Belkis was born in Honduras and has grown up in Willmar. She recently graduated from St. Olaf College with a Bachelor’s degree in Political Science with a minor in International Relations and has worked in areas of social justice, public policy, DEIB, and peer leadership. Belkis joined the Willmar Area Community Foundation (WACF) team in September 2023 as the first Community Engagement Coordinator. In her free time, she enjoys reading, creative writing and painting.
